My Story
Welcome to my corner of the internet. I’m Olaf — a writer, researcher, and explorer of what makes ideas meaningful. With a background rooted in science and a heart that leans toward storytelling, I work to make complex topics more human, honest, and clear. From scientific writing to reflections on investing and life itself, this site is where my thinking meets the world..
The field of neurology has inspired me since a long time, it started with a hernia, even though I know that many do not count this to the field of neurology, it was the first time I cam into contact with neurological symptoms, I still know very well how my mother, at that time this was a normal treatment, had to lie down for six weeks and not to get up, it made me learn cooking, which was a nice extra for me :), I was 11 or 12 at the time, and I just was curious how back pain could give sensibility and strength problems in the legs of my mother. It took me some years in school to then start my journey in physical Therapy with being very lucky to have a great teacher in NDT (Neuro Developmental Treatment) or Bobath as it is called in many European countries. Even though the world of neurological treatment concepts changed very much, it was the start of my journey, and I have been living in that world for almost 30 years now. Learning about many neurological Disorders in all different settings, from university Hospitals at the neurosurgery department, over early stage rehabilitation, the more known rehabilitation phase, and the late rehabilitation at home or in nursing homes. I want to specifically mention both Jaques van der Meer ( My NDT Teacher in the Physical therapy education) and Peter Sandor Head Neurologist at my Early rehabilitation years and helping me with my master in neurorehabilitation Science.
Making a long story short, this has been my life over the last almost 30 years, and I have found that there is still a lot to be done in Information for patients and their families
✍️ Scientific Writing
I believe in writing that respects both the reader and the truth. Whether translating complex research or crafting meaningful narratives, I aim to make science accessible without losing its depth.
🔬 Scientific Reliability
In a world full of noise, reliability matters. My work is grounded in evidence, clarity, and thoughtful skepticism — always focused on asking better questions before rushing to answers.
📈 Investing & Projects
I’m curious about how ideas grow — in people, in research, and in the world. This section will soon feature reflections on investing, emerging projects, and how we can shape the future with intention

What Can I Do for You?
Advice, public speaking, writing, you name it, I can help you
I’m a public speaker that can speak about different topics but loves to help understand his audience better after the speech
I love to be able to make difficult diagnosis and symtoms easy to understand, if you need someone to bring it all to an easy understandable language, then contact me
I’ve worked for schools, institutes and rehabilitation centers in many countries
Do you need information about neurological rehabilitation? I would love to help you
I can help you to make the whole neurological rehabilitation more easy to understand for both patients as for their families
It is hard for the patients, but families often struggle even more to understand what exactly it means to have someone with a neurological disorder, if the information gets to the family on time, it is very often possible to stay at home way longer, even in later stages of the disorders, because everything has been arranged on time
